5 Minute Makeup Routine: Your How-To Guide To Get the Glam on Quick

Everyone should have a five-minute makeup routine down pat in their back pocket. You never know when you're going to have to look glam in a hurry. Whether it's a last-minute job interview, meeting, or date, you're going to want to look your best.

You don't have to do your full routine in a hurry. Instead, look for ways to cut corners and still look amazing. There are a few essential products you'll need for this five-minute look. Another key aspect is skincare. Having great skin will make doing your makeup quickly easier since you won't need to spend as much time concealing.

We are going to go over how to achieve a put-together makeup look when you only have a few minutes to spare.

Makeup You Need

The makeup a person needs for a five-minute routine can vary slightly. Some things are non-negotiable for some, while others can go without it. For example, an eyeliner doesn't need to be in everyone's five-minute routine, but if you don't feel complete without it, then, by all means, include it in your routine!

Foundation

Foundation may not be a requirement for everyone. Some people have clear enough skin to skip right to concealer and still look glam. You can still include foundation, though, if you need the extra coverage.

We will go over how you can apply it quickly without spending a lot of time blending it out.

Concealer

Concealer is a must in the five-minute makeup routine. It can cover any imperfections and brighten up your face to give you that put-together look in a hurry.

A liquid concealer is the best to use when you don't want to spend a lot of time. It's easy to blend and can cover a larger area faster. HIDE Premium Concealer can cover anything and still allow your skin to look like skin.

Blush or Bronzer

Applying both blush or bronzer may take too much time. However, you need at least one of them, so you look alive. When you even out your skin tone with foundation or concealer, it gives you a one-dimensional look.

Bronzer or blush can bring definition and color back to your face. A powder formulation is easy to brush on and blend out. If you're in a pinch, use your lipstick as a cream blush!

Mascara

You won't have time to do a full-blown eye look in the five-minute routine. However, mascara is a must. When you elongate your lashes, it opens up your eyes. Plus, if you have nothing on your eyes, it will be obvious you ran out of time doing your makeup.

The one exception to this is if you have naturally long dark curly lashes or eyelash extensions. You can spend the time using a different product instead, like eyeliner.

Eye-Brow Pencil

If you have full bushy brows, just use a spoolie to brush through them and you're good! However, if you have sparse brows, you'll need a quick way to fill them in. An eyebrow pencil is easy to use and allows you to draw on brows quickly.

A Lip Product

To complete any makeup look, you need something on your lips. It can be lipstick, lip stain, lipgloss, or even a tinted lip balm. You can decide what your favorite lip product is to add to the routine.

5 Minute Makeup Routine

Now that you have all of your products, you're ready for the five-minute makeup routine! Before you begin, you may want a makeup tool or two. However, in a hurry, you can apply your makeup with your fingers. We recommend at least having a damp beauty blender on hand and a brush for your blush or bronzer.

Step 1: Prime Your Skin

You don't want to start your routine with dirty skin. Splash some water on your face and use a gentle cleanser if you have one nearby. Next, apply some moisturizer to create a hydrated base for your makeup.

Step 2: Apply Your Foundation

If you're using a foundation, you need to apply it first. The easiest formulation to use in a hurry is a liquid foundation because it’s easy to blend. HIDE Premium Foundation works with all skin types and offers medium to full coverage.

You can pump it right onto your face and then use your fingers to spread it out evenly. Think of it like you're putting on moisturizer. You can even mix it with lotion if you want a more sheer look. Once it's mostly spread out, grab your damp beauty blender and dab around your face to make sure there are no streaks.

Step 3: Apply Your Concealer

Use a concealer shade one shade lighter than your skin shade to create a brightening effect. Apply it under your eyes and in your T-zone. You can use your fingers again to blend it out, but this step will go by faster using a damp makeup sponge.

Bounce the sponge under your eyes and over the other areas you put concealer. The best part about using HIDE products is that you won't need to set your foundation or concealer. The custom oil-free formula is made to resist sweat, so it's not going anywhere, plus it won't clog your pores.

Step 4: Apply Your Bronzer or Blush

Grab your bronzer or blush and apply it with your brush. If you're using a bronzer, you can apply it onto your forehead, below your cheekbones, and on your jawline for a quick version of contouring.

Step 5: Apply Your Brow Product

Use your brow pencil to fill in the sparse areas of your brows. Use the spoolie end to brush through your brows. This step will leave you with a natural look, even if you accidentally drew on a harsh line in a hurry.

Step 6: Apply Mascara

Apply at least one coat of mascara to your top lashes. If you have the time, you can add a second coat and apply it to your bottom lashes as well. Be careful when applying mascara in a hurry. You don't want to take your eye out or end up with mascara everywhere.

Step 7: Apply Your Lip Product

Apply your lip product of choice and you're done! This step takes the least amount of time and can even be done as you're walking out the door. You can throw it in your purse in case you need a touch-up.

Develop a Skincare Routine

Healthy, clear skin can make your five-minute routine even easier. When you don't have pesky blemishes or discoloration to worry about, you won't have to use as much concealer and can skip foundation altogether. Plus, having hydrated skin helps makeup look natural and not cakey.

You'll need to cater your skincare routine to your skin type. You can consult with a dermatologist if you need some guidance. However, no matter what kind of skin you have, everyone needs to use a moisturizer.

You can also implement serums and eye creams. Some products can help fight discoloration to even your skin tone. You can also use a blemish-fighting lotion to help you avoid breakouts. Once you develop a regimen, stick to it! It typically takes at least a month to see noticeable results.
